Additional Fire Survivor Bills Need Community Support

Insurance protection bills SB 877, SB 878, and SB 1301 have passed the California State Senate and now move to the Assembly, where the insurance industry is expected to fight hard to weaken or stop them. Sponsored by Every Fire Survivor’s Network, the bills address three tactics keeping families from getting home: hidden underpayments, delayed claims, and non-renewals without warning.

AB 1847, which would extend mortgage relief for Eaton and Palisades fire survivors, has also passed the Assembly and now moves to the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee in the State Senate.

Action: Add your name in support of the insurance reform bills at fixinsurance.org, and if you are facing fire-related mortgage hardship, use the Disaster Mortgage Relief guide to contact Senate committee members.
