FEMA Extends Housing Assistance for Eligible Fire Survivors

FEMA approved a major extension of Individuals and Households Program housing assistance for LA fire survivors. Eligible homeowners may now receive continued temporary housing assistance through July 9, 2027. Eligible renters received a three-month extension through October 9, 2026. The extension recognizes ongoing rebuilding delays, insurance and underinsurance problems, limited rental availability, and contractor and labor shortages.

Action: Read the official announcement and contact FEMA if you may be eligible. Keep your case active, document continuing housing need, and request help promptly if additional living expense coverage is ending.
