Pasadena Reminds Residents That All Fireworks Are Illegal
Pasadena police and firefighters will use extra patrols throughout the Fourth of July weekend to enforce the city’s total ban on fireworks. All fireworks are illegal in Pasadena, including types that may be allowed in other California cities. Violations can result in fines, jail time, and the cost of safely disposing of confiscated fireworks; possession of larger quantities may lead to felony charges. City officials also announced the seizure of approximately 10,000 pounds of illegal fireworks and four arrests. In the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, officials urged residents to choose fireworks-free celebrations, including the Rose Bowl’s FoodieLand Festival and drone show and Pasadena’s Independence Day parade and picnic.
