Fire Survivors Stopped AB 1795 — But the Fight Isn’t Over

AB 1795, the insurance bill that would limit testing through loopholes, did not make it to an Assembly floor vote last week. That happened because fire survivors called assemblymembers by the hundreds and made clear that this is not the bill our communities need for recovery. The author, Assemblymember Gipson, did not have the votes to pass it out of the Assembly. But because AB 1795 has an urgency clause, it can still be brought back for a vote later. The risk remains, and we need to keep fighting.

Action: Stay tuned for updates from EFRU on the status of this bill and add your name to the oppostion letter.
