In the aftermath of the WUI fire that tore through Altadena, testing of wildfire debris in ash and soot revealed a number of concerning contaminants, many of which carry serious health risks for humans and pets.

In addition to the CAM17 metals (described below), tests found levels of
asbestos, lithium, and mercury.
