Anyone eligible for CalWORKs who is behind on rent may visit their local DPSS office to request Emergency Assistance to Prevent Eviction (EAPE). Download the EAPE fact sheet to learn more. Rental Assistance Available for General Relief

The DPSS General Relief (GR) Housing Subsidy Program can help eligible participants avoid homelessness. To qualify, customers must be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, receiving GR benefits, participating in START or pursuing SSI, and in agreement to contribute $100 from their GR grant to monthly rent expenses.
