CalAssist Mortgage Relief: Apply by November 2

California’s expanded CalAssist Mortgage Fund may cover up to 12 months of mortgage payments, capped at $100,000, for qualifying disaster-affected homeowners. Owners of standing homes must meet the program’s damage or uninhabitability criteria and other eligibility requirements; fire proximity alone does not establish approval.

Applications are due November 2, 2026. Older program summaries describing $20,000 or three months of assistance are not the current expanded limits.

Action: Check eligibility and apply online, or call 800-501-0019. Applying is free. CalAssist Mortgage Fund.
