FEMA disaster assistance: The extended assistance period for renters ended October 9, 2026; the current extension for eligible homeowners runs through July 9, 2027. This does not mean every household receives assistance until those dates. Applicants generally have 60 days from the date of their FEMA determination letter to appeal a decision, including certain decisions issued near the program's end.
