Housing Priority for Wildfire-Displaced Households
California HCD has established a wildfire-displacement priority for qualifying vacancies in HCD-assisted multifamily rental housing projects in LA County through July 1, 2027. Eligibility is limited. Applicants generally must have been displaced from their primary residence in LA County by the January 2025 fires, be homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, and meet the requirements of the particular housing program and available unit.
This is not a blanket entitlement to every affordable-housing vacancy or closed waiting list.
