Against LA County & the City of Pasadena

Since the Eaton Fire in January, many tenants have reported uninhabitable living conditions due to smoke and ash contamination, which landlords have largely failed to address. Both the City of Pasadena and LA County have declined to inspect or enforce housing code violations claiming it isn't their responsibility. In response, the Pasadena tenant Union and the Altadena Tenants Union have retained legal counsel to file a lawsuit compelling the city and county to conduct inspections as required by state law. The lawsuit was filed May 22 in LA County Superior Court.
