Opportunity for Fire Survivors to Share Their Story

The California Department of Public Health is creating an interactive story map to share how climate change is impacting health across the state. They are seeking personal stories—especially from survivors of the Eaton Fire and other wildfires—highlighting experiences with wildfires, poor air quality, extreme heat, and related health risks. The project welcomes input from diverse and vulnerable communities, including older adults, pregnant individuals, people with disabilities, Native Americans, farmworkers, first responders, unhoused individuals, and those with chronic or climate-sensitive conditions. Participants will have final approval over how their stories are shared and will receive a $35 gift card.

To participate, email Lauren.Oommen@cdph.ca.gov.
