Urgent Action: Oppose Harmful Provisions in AB 1795 and Protect Fire Survivors

AB 1795 Smoke Damage Recovery Act, is heading to its first committee, the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials (ESTM) Committee. As written, several provisions will be used by insurers to limit their obligations rather than expand them. EFRU has prepared a detailed opposition letter with specific amendments that would make the bill work the way it is supposed to. We are asking residents, supporters, and organizations to sign on.

INDIVIDUALS: To sign on, add your name to EFRU's opposition letter here no later than 3pm Monday 4/6.

ORGANIZATIONS: Download the template letter here, add your organization's logo to the top, and send your letter as a PDF to dawn@efru.la no later than 3pm Monday 4/6 at 3pm. EFRU will upload your letter to the Legislative Position Letter Portal on your behalf.

Your name on this letter tells the committee that the community is watching — and that we expect the amendments to be taken seriously. You can access EFRU's full analysis on AB 1795 here.
