AB 1642 and AB 1795 Advance from Senate Environmental Quality

Both standing-home bills advanced from the Senate Environmental Quality Committee on July 1. AB 1642 would establish statewide, health-based requirements for testing, remediation, and clearance before occupancy after wildland-urban interface fires. AB 1795 is still moving forward without the promised written amendments addressing contaminant scope, wildfire causation, the presumed impact zone, and the trade-and-industry-standards provision.
Action: We will be hosting a Standing Homes Town Hall in the next few weeks to share more on the statand to answer your questions. Stay tuned for more info on the date and time.
