AB 1642 Moves to the Assembly Floor

AB 1642, the Wildfire Environmental Safety and Testing Act, passed out of Assembly Appropriations and is headed to the Assembly Floor. This is a major step toward statewide, science-based testing standards and Clearance Before Occupancy after WUI fires, so families are not forced to guess whether their homes are safe. This happened because so many people took action. Thank you to everyone who called, posted, tagged legislators, shared information, and helped push this bill forward. We are working together as a community to get this much-needed legislation passed.

The Assembly Floor vote is expected the week of May 25. EFRU will need residents and supporters to help contact legislators and urge a YES vote on AB 1642. If you can help make calls, post on social media, or spread the word, please contact efru.members@gmail.com.

In the meantime, please share this post and ask friends and family in California to contact their Assemblymember in support of AB 1642.
