Altadena Water Losses Shape Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan
Foothill Municipal Water District and participating water agencies released a draft Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for public review. The plan describes how the Eaton Fire damaged local water infrastructure, including reservoirs, pumps, pipelines, meters, service connections, and communications equipment. Pasadena Now reports that Las Flores Water Company lost about 74% of service connections, Lincoln Avenue Water Company lost about 55%, and Rubio Cañon Land and Water Association lost about 35%. The site lists Las Flores Water Company and Lincoln Avenue Water Company as formal participants, but not Rubio Canon Water Company, Kinneloa Irrigation District, or Pasadena Water & Power.
Action: Public comments are accepted through August 7. Review the draft plan and submit public comment here. Questions may be directed to Foothill Municipal Water District at 818-790-4036.
