CARE Fund Update: New $25M Anti-Displacement Proposal

The CARE Fund proposal has been revised in response to state budget constraints. The updated $25 million proposal now focuses on two urgent anti-displacement strategies: homeowner rebuilding gap grants for low- and moderate-income fire survivors, and affordable housing preservation and land banking to prevent speculative buyouts and stabilize displaced renters and working families. The updated proposal is estimated to support 300-500 fire survivors most at risk of permanent displacement. Organizations can sign on by Friday, May 29, end of day.
