County Backs Expanded Mortgage Relief for Fire Survivors

Los Angeles County has formally backed AB 1847, a bill that would extend mortgage forbearance for Eaton Fire survivors from 12 months to 36 months and extend the deadline to request relief to January 7, 2029. Pasadena Now also notes that the bill builds on AB 238, after survivors reported that some servicers delayed or denied the relief they were already supposed to receive.
