FEMA Assistance for Renters Ends October 9; Homeowner Assistance Continues

LAFLA’s current wildfire-recovery guidance says FEMA Individual Assistance for the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires remains available through October 9, 2026 for renters and July 9, 2027 for homeowners. Survivors who disagree with an individual FEMA decision also have appeal rights; do not assume October 9 is the appeal deadline for every case. Legal-aid organizations can help with FEMA applications, denials, appeals and continued housing assistance.
