LA Fire Survivors Face Record Wait for Long-Term Federal Recovery Funds

LAist reported that Eaton and Palisades fire survivors had waited nearly 600 days for more than $15B in requested long-term federal disaster-recovery funding, longer than the wait reported after the Maui fires. The unresolved funding includes Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery money that can help close rebuilding gaps and support public infrastructure while many households continue to face major insurance shortfalls and expiring temporary-housing support.
