Oppose Harmful Provisions in AB 1795 and Protect Fire Survivors
AB 1795 Smoke Damage Recovery Act, the bill that resulted from California Department of Insurance Smoke Claims and Remediation Task Force, is heading to its first committee, the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials (ESTM) Committee on Tuesday, April 14. As written, several provisions will be used by insurers to limit their obligations. EFRU has prepared a detailed opposition letter with specific amendments that would make the bill work the way it can protect survivors rather than harm them. We are asking residents, supporters, and organizations to sign on. Learn more here.
