Recording Now Available of EFRU Speaker Event: Soil Recovery After the LA Fires - How Bioremediation Can Help

On Monday, March 16, EFRU hosted Dr. Danielle Stevenson for a webinar focused on demystifying bioremediation and clarifying common misconceptions about nature-based approaches to soil cleanup. Ecological remediation uses fungi, plants, and beneficial soil microbes to stabilize, transform, or help remove contaminants from soil. Drawing on local case studies involving native plants and fungi for brownfield and residential soil remediation in Los Angeles, as well as post-fire mycofiltration studies from Northern California, Dr. Stevenson of the Centre for Applied Ecological Remediation (CAER) discussed how ecological remediation strategies may support recovery from post-fire soil contamination.
