Trump Targets State Farm and Insurers Over Wildfire Claims Amid Federal Scrutiny

According to Yahoo News, Trump has publicly stated State Farm was “absolutely horrible” in its response to the Los Angeles-area wildfire claims and said State Farm and other insurers should “get their act together, and treat people fairly.” He also said the federal government was “looking into this matter” after meeting with California officials about insurers’ handling of the fires. It seems these statements are more scrutiny rather than penalty as there has been no enforcement action announced at this time. Reporting says Trump asked EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to review insurers’ wildfire response and identify companies that failed to meet obligations to policyholders. Separate reporting also notes State Farm is already facing scrutiny from California officials over its wildfire claims handling. Access the article here.
