Wells Fargo Extends Mortgage Forbearance to 27 Months for Eaton Fire Homeowners
Pasadena Now reported that Wells Fargo will extend mortgage forbearance to a total of 27 months for customers directly impacted by the January 2025 Eaton Fire. According to the report, eligible homeowners can request the extension by contacting their Wells Fargo servicer, and no forms are required. This may provide additional relief for families still paying a mortgage on a destroyed or unsafe property while also paying for temporary housing. EFRU applauds Wells Fargo’s action and urges other mortgage institutions to voluntarily provide the same relief to fire-impacted homeowners.
Action: Wells Fargo borrowers should contact their servicer directly to confirm eligibility, repayment terms, escrow handling, credit reporting, and what happens when the forbearance period ends.
