EFRU Speaker Event: Smoke Damage and the Path Forward

Tues 2/17 @7PM
EFRU, along with LA Standing Homes, welcomes back insurance litigation attorney Kevin Pollack for an important discussion on how insurance companies are denying proper coverage for smoke-damaged homes after California wildfires, leaving thousands of families in contaminated houses that may look fine, but contain toxic materials. Despite clear legal requirements to cover all loss by fire, including smoke, insurers are systematically minimizing homeowners’ losses, relying on biased experts, and cutting off benefits before homes can be verified as safe through testing.

Kevin will share the presentation he delivered last month to the Smoke Claims & Remediation Task Force, calling on California regulators to enforce existing insurance laws, outlining relevant case law, and explaining how insurance companies can and must be held accountable to honor current insurance code and protect families instead of profits. Register here for the event.
