EFRU Speaker Event Recording: Animals, Risk, and Responsibility in Natural Disasters
On Monday, February 23 at 7pm, EFRU hosted Animals, Risk, and Responsibility in Natural Disasters, a speaker event with Dr. Leslie Irvine, Professor of Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder and Director of CU’s Animals and Society Certificate Program. In this community talk, Dr. Irvine drew on her research on animal welfare in disasters to discuss pet vulnerabilities, pet loss, lessons from the Marshall Fire, and practical preparedness and policy solutions to help reduce animals’ risk during and after a disaster.
