The CalAssist Mortgage Fund spoke to EFRU on Monday, 5/25. Residents who have not yet received CalAssist Mortgage Fund assistance are welcome to apply. Administered by the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA), the fund was launched to provide direct mortgage relief to homeowners whose primary residences were destroyed or severely damaged to the point they were deemed uninhabitable as the result of a qualified disaster like the Eaton Fire. The fund provides one year of mortgage payments, do not have to be repaid, is free to apply for, and grants are paid directly to mortgage servicers.
