Closing the Recovery Gap: CARE Fund Town Hall with Sen. Pérez
Governor Newsom’s final state budget did not include the proposed Community Aid for Rebuilding and Equity Fund, leaving no dedicated recovery funding for disaster survivors. If funded, the CARE Fund would provide targeted assistance for more than 100 fire survivors. State leaders can still consider funding adjustments through budget bills and related negotiations before the legislative budget process ends on August 31. DENA Rise Up, the Eaton Fire Collaborative, and the California Community Foundation are hosting a community town hall on budget advocacy for a fair recovery. Residents can hear directly from Senator Sasha Renée Pérez, ask questions, and stay connected to the public funding fight affecting fire survivors.
Action: The Budget Advocacy Town Hall will take place Wednesday, July 15, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Eaton Fire Collaborative, 540 W. Woodbury Rd., Altadena.RSVP for the town hall here.
