LA County Public Health Advisory: Fire Debris Exposure Near Burned Structures

Los Angeles County Public Health warns residents living within 250 yards of a burned structure or parcel in or near the Eaton and Palisades burn areas that ash, soot, and fire debris may contain asbestos, lead, hazardous chemicals, and fine particulate matter. The advisory says exposure before Phase 1 and Phase 2 debris removal are complete may carry short- and long-term health risks.
